Family Engagement

Bickham Middle School hosted ½ day workshops for parents where teachers in Math, ELA, Computers and Home and Family Living gave parents information on how to assist their children in utilizing the internet and games to assist students in enhancing literacy and other skills.  The day would culminate in the Home and Family Living Center where parents in attendance prepared a meal and students from service groups served.  These were well attended.  The principal was an integral part of the activities.  The Family Facilitator assisted in planning and outreach for these functions.  These were held quarterly.

North Caddo High School held several parent outreach meetings at various times to engage parents.  Ron Anderson, parent trainer and motivational speaker met with parents, teachers, and students during the school day for an overall activity.  Randy Walker, parent trainer met several times during the year both at night and during the school day for Power of Parenting meetings as well as planning sessions for high school seniors.  The Family Facilitator assisted in planning and outreach for these functions.

Vivian Elementary / Middle School hosted a breakfast for volunteers, community leaders, and others to acknowledge their participation during the year to enhance the learning for all students.  Ron Anderson, parent trainer and motivational speaker, met with the middle school students.
